A spiritual tour of India has been announced that is much more than a visit to sacred sites. It also includes teachings of ancient Vedic Wisdom and Yoga Philosophy.
The tour leader, Jeffrey Armstrong, is a renowned author, speaker and teacher, as well as the founder of the Vedic Academy of Sciences & Arts. Fifteen years ago he gave up a Silicon Valley career to devote his life to helping Western minds understand India’s 15,000 years of wisdom.
The two-week “Sacred Journey to India with Jeffrey Armstrong” features the spiritual centres of Delhi, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Vrindavan, Mathura, Agra, and Jaipur. Jeffery will lead the group in mantras and meditations that Indian yogis have practiced for thousands of years.
There will be visits to ancient and modern temples and must-see landmarks as well as places not found in typical tourist programs. The group will enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride through Delhi’s colorful Chandni Chowk market, a carriage ride to the Taj Mahal at sunset, an elephant ride to the Amber Fort in Jaipur, and a vegetarian dinner at the home of a local family.
At the International Yoga Festival at an ashram in Rishikesh, participants can take part in multiple styles of yoga in classes taught by world-class instructors. Jeffrey will be one of the guest speakers at the festival.
The March 1 – 15, 2014 tour is offered by Sacred Earth Journeys in Vancouver, Canada. “This is a unique opportunity for a life-changing experience,” said company President Helen Tomei. “It can help you to expand your consciousness, open your heart, and unlock the vast potential of your body, mind, and spirit.”
